The genetically modified salmon AquAdvantage^TM salmon is approved in only a few countries. The introduction of a growth hormone-regulating gene from Pacific Chinook salmon leads to an increased growth of this genetically modified fish. AquAdvantage^TM salmon was placed on the market in 2017 Canada. GMOIdent RT IPC Accelerated Growth Salmon detects the genetic modification of this genetically modified salmon.
